I want to find more freelance work. I want to increase my income from freelancing.
This is my experiment to find three new freelancing gigs within the next month.
Last week I wrote about why freelancing trumps blogging. This week I’m going to find myself some more work. It’s time to increase my income.
Why increase my freelancing income?
I want to make more money and get better at what I do.
I used to always blindly chase passive income. Now that I’ve setup a few solid streams of passive income (eBooks and real estate) I want to increase my income from freelancing. The more money I make from freelance work, the more money that I have to invest in my other business ventures.
I also want to get better at what I do. When I get paid to do something, I take it very seriously. This is why I want to find more paid work.
What’s my plan to find more freelance work?
I’m going to apply my own advice. I wrote about how you can find a freelance writing gig now.
I’m going to try three different strategies and in a few weeks I plan on sharing with you which strategy worked for me.
- Post an ad on Studenomics. In the next few days I’m going to put an ad up on my main blog, Studenomics, to let everyone know that they can hire me.
- Send emails to friends. I’m going to shoot over emails to see if any of my friends that I’ve met over the years would be interested in help with their blogging or if they know of anything.
- Check out job boards. In my eBook I checked out the importance of using online job boards to find work. I’m going to hit these up to increase my income.
Do you have any advice? How have you found freelance work in the past? I’m open to all suggestions.

I’ve been hesitant in trying to find a freelance writing gig because I’ve got so much on my plate with other stuff. But SEAM Publishing could be thought of as a freelance service. My efforts on that have mostly consisted of connecting with other bloggers and online places that independent authors hang out and joining in any conversations I find about ebooks.
How have those efforts paid off thus far Edward? Have you thought about perhaps freelancing to make some extra money so that you can justify time online?
Staff writing, ghost writing, and commenting are how I freelance. The larger money seems to come from tech-like services like blog tech help and design. I’m not made for those fields and usually hire others, so I stick to the social jobs.
Awesome! I love your drive Crystal. Keep it up. When this site is huge, I would love a guest piece from you.
You got it.
